Don’t Forget Thursday is PURPLE!
Spirit Day is a day speak out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth who disproportionately face bullying and harassment. Pledging to wear PURPLE on Spirit Day is a way for everyone to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in one of the largest anti-bullying campaigns in the world.
Spirit Day was started in 2010 by Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan in response to widely publicized bullying related suicides of gay students.
The GSA will be having a Purple Bake Sale (treats for a looney) and selling home knit Pride Flag Hats and Transgender Flag Hats for $5.
