Friday, October 20th is GSA Purple/Spirit Day at Beaconsfield Junior High. This is a day that is marked internationally! Students and staff are asked to wear purple to bring attention to the issue of anti-LGBTQ bullying and youth suicide. The staff and students at BJH are dedicated to creating an environment for LGBTQ and ally youth to empower and support them in their efforts to combat harassment based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. The GSA will also have:
- a purple bake sale (all items $1.00),
- tickets on a Purple Goodie basket for 25 cents each
- sell hand knit Pride Flag Hats for $5.00.
At BJH we strive to create an environment of not just safety for all, but also acceptance and celebration of all!
