From May 9-16, students at Beaconsfield Junior High welcomed 20 visiting students from École secondaire La Ruche in Magog, Quebec. They were twinned with 20 grade 7 and 8 French Immersion students from BJH who were participating in the SEVEC (Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges Canada) program. After spending a week in Magog during the winter, it was our turn to play host and share the beauty of our province with our guests. Students spent a day at school and were treated to a BBQ lunch in aid of the Janeway Children’s Hospital. They also hiked Signal Hill and Cape Spear, completed the Coastal Explorers Program in Holyrood and the North Atlantic Zipline and did many other activities with their host families. We rounded off their visit with a kitchen party at the school. It was a great and memorable experience for all involved
