Strong Showing at Heritage Fair

Beaconsfield students had a very strong presence this weekend at the Regional Heritage Fair.  There were several awards handed out to Saxons:

Laura Au: represented Beaconsfield in the Ambassador’s Award division

Joshua Halliday & Julian Edwards: won best visual literacy based project.

Jordan Brake: won Honourable Mention in the regular Heritage Fair competition

Joshua Mack

  • Won in best aborginial theme category and may have an opportunity to travel to Ottawa to continue competing.
  • He also won first place in the senior division of the postage stamp design competition for the Cupids Historical Society.

Ethan King

  • Won in the Ambassador’s Program category for excellence in projects commemorating people who served in the First World War.  This means Ethan was selected and will travel to France and Belgium to visit significant site where the Royal Newfoundland Regiment fought at the end of June and early July.
